Double Cleansing: Does it work on all skin types?

Double Cleansing: Does it work on all skin types?

Is this technique always beneficial for you, or are there skin types with particular characteristics on which it would be better to avoid it? This is one of the questions about double cleansing that is most frequently asked about skin types. The answer is that double cleansing can be used to thoroughly cleanse any type of skin, provided that the necessary safety measures are taken periodically.

Double Cleansing for dry and sensitive skin

When treating delicate, sensitive, or dry skin, double detersion is occasionally not advised because it is viewed as being too aggressive. In actuality, if the proper care is taken, it can be completed without too many issues.

The key is to always avoid wipes and cotton pads because they can irritate the skin. You should also keep your double routine to the evening to avoid overworking your skin, and you should always choose gentle, moisturizing products. The recommendation in this situation is to use cleansing oil as the first step of Korean cleansing, then a foaming cleanser.

Double Cleansing for Combination skin

And in the case of combination skin and Korean cleansing, how should we behave? Is this pair successful? The answer is yes in this instance as well; combination skin can be successfully removed using this method of face cleansing. If done properly with the right products, this cleansing technique can be gentle enough to respect and leave soft areas of dry skin while thoroughly cleaning those with oily skin.

Cleansing twice for oily skin

However, oily skin is undoubtedly the condition in which the double cleansing step of Korean skincare performs best because it enables deeper cleaning of the face and removal of impurities, sebum, and makeup.

Additionally, the oily cleanser binds to the sebum by affinity, making it easier for us to remove it rather than making the skin oilier. But we must be careful when selecting the foaming cleanser for the second step; if we pick one that is too aggressive, we run the risk of our skin begins to secrete sebum to reassemble its protective film.

Consider using two cleanings

We are aware of the proper way to perform double cleaning with an oily detergent and a foaming agent. Would it still work if we wanted to use different products? The answer is no; micellar water, coconut oil, or any other cosmetic or non-cosmetic product cannot be used in conjunction with double cleansing for it to be truly effective.

The products to choose are exactly those we have recommended, respecting the order of use: first, an oily product to dissolve make-up, sebum, and impurities, and then a foaming cleanser to deeply cleanse the epidermis. By attacking the skin without removing impurities, using other types of products that are not designed specifically for cosmetic use and face cleansing can sabotage the process.
