Applying lotion is one of the easy and inexpensive ways to keep our skin healthy and moisturized. Our skin plays important role in preventing our body from bacteria, dust, pollutions, and also UV rays.
There are still some people who take UV rays for granted. UV rays affect our skin and may damage the skin. Fortunately, there are now more and more campaigns persuading people to prevent the danger of UV rays by using sunscreen.
UV Rays
Ultraviolet (UV) radiation is electromagnetic radiation that comes from the sun and also man-made sources. There are many types of radiation, from high to low-frequency radiation. UV rays, here, are in the middle frequency. UV rays reach their strongest effects between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. UV ray itself is divided into three:
-
UVA rays
Although appears to be the least energy among the three main UV rays, UVA can cause aging and damage the skin, such as forming wrinkles and fine lines. For the worst, it also becomes a factor that causes skin cancers.
-
UVB rays
Compare to UVA, UVB rays tend to have more energy. Not only can damage DNA in the skin cells but they are also believed to cause most skin cancers.
-
UVC rays
Although they have more energy than UVA and UVB, luckily, UVC rays don’t reach the ground. Hence, they will not cause skin cancer.
Sunscreen Lotion
To protect our skin from sun exposure, it is always best to apply sunscreen lotion. As stated above that UV rays can increase the aging process, sunscreen lotion helps us reduce the symptoms. Sun exposure damages the collagen and connective tissues of our skin. It affects our skin elasticity and may cause wrinkles and fine lines.
Hyperpigmentation may occur as the effect of sun exposure. Sunscreen lotion helps you prevent it along with protecting your skin from sunburn as well.
Vitamin C sunscreen lotion
Vitamin C has been known for its anti-oxidant, anti-aging, and brightening effects on the skin. The sunscreen itself, in addition, can protect our skin from sun exposure. Hence, having sunscreen lotion with vitamin C in it seems to be a perfect weapon for us to prevent our skin from sun damage. It increases the production of collagen which will make our skin plump and have youthful look.
Vitamin C sunscreen lotion offers UVA and UVB protection with nourishing ingredients which are easily and quickly absorbed by the skin. All skin categories can use this as it is good for any skin type. Moreover, the lotion helps correct the uneven skin tone and keep skin moisturized. It also neutralizes the skin-damaging free radicals.
Apply vitamin C sunscreen lotion with SPF 50+ (or at least SPF 30+) in the morning once you have done your skincare routine. You can apply the lotion after moisturizer and under foundation. In addition, you may reapply the lotion if you think it’s needed. It is better to limit unnecessary sun exposure by wearing a hat, sunglasses, or face shield.
